I hope this letter finds you doing well. I spent last weekend in LA speaking at a church which was a lot of fun. The best part though was meeting 15 or so members of our online church that tune in to our podcasts every week. I love meeting online listeners because I feel like you are just as much a part of this church as the people that walk into Pete's Candy Store every Sunday. It really encourages me to hear from people all over the country (and the world) that attend Revolution through our weekly podcasts.
This Sunday is of course Easter Sunday. Everyone knows we're not really into the traditional interpretation of Church but this year we've decided to shake things up a bit. This Sunday we will have an old school Easter Worship service. Communion... Music... Flowers... the whole 9 yards. We'll have it in a bar of course (having it anywhere else just wouldn't be right). It should be interesting so stop by Pete's Candy Store if you're in the neighborhood.
It's not easy running a Church on a small budget. There is only so much Marc, Vince and I can accomplish. A few of our local congregants have pitched in answering e-mails and phone calls, filling merch orders and just keeping us organized which has really helped us out. Still, our financial state is not looking good. Having only raised half of our monthly budget in both January and February, we are not in a good place right now.
I always dread these e-mails because I know most of you have heard this time and time again growing up in Church, to the point where it sounds like empty rhetoric. Just remember that it's financial support from people like you that have allowed us to show God's love from a unique perspective to all people, regardless of anything and everything. If you can help out, we would greatly appreciate it. As always checks, credit cards and PayPal are accepted. Just go to http://www.RevolutionNYC.com and click on "Donate".
