Honduras
is one of the poorest Spanish-speaking countries in the Western
Hemisphere, with 53 percent of the population living below the poverty
level. Conditions are especially difficult in rural areas of the
country. Prince of Peace Mission of Honduras supports a variety of
evangelistic and community outreach programs, including children’s
ministry in village churches. These youngsters attend a Saturday Bible
club where they sing songs, memorize Scripture verses, and enjoy games.
Snacks or a nutritious lunch is also provided. Christian Aid Mission has
assisted the ministry by sending funds for the Bible clubs as well as
school supplies for children from the poorest families. Giving boys and
girls a solid foundation in God’s Word now will help them grow in their
faith in Jesus and steer them away from the temptations of drugs and
youth gangs.
