In December Prison Outreach of Ecuador
hosted a Christmas dinner inside one of the male prisons in Quito. The
ministry distributed 250 toiletry kits that included toilet paper,
toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, and detergent. They also provided a meal
for the children of the prisoners, whom they minister to each week
through Bible teaching, games, and refreshments. POE’s gospel
workers lead Bible studies and pray with inmates, pointing many to a
life of redemption when they receive Jesus Christ as Savior. The
ministry plans to build a Bible Training and Rehabilitation Center that
would serve ex-prisoners from all over Ecuador, giving them solid Bible
training and teaching them vocational trades so they can obtain jobs or
start their own small businesses. Pray that local authorities will issue
a building permit so construction can begin.
